Health Legislation Amendment Bill

March 19, 2016

I rise today to support the Health Legislation Amendment Bill 2015 as it supports government initiatives and the effective operation of the following acts: the Food Act 2006 to require fast-food chains and the like to display the nutritional information of their products; the Health Ombudsman Act 2013 and the Hospital and Health Boards Act 2011 to allow the minister to temporary appoint persons to hospital and health boards; the Pest Managemen...

Queensland Nickel & Environmental Protection (Chain of Responsibility) Amendment Bill

March 18, 2016

The name Clive Palmer is a name taken in vain in Townsville at the moment. Locals sometimes use a colourful expletive before mumbling the name through gritted teeth. The Mayor, Jenny Hill, and councillors presented reports on the various portfolios that recounted the history of the city over those 150 years. Through all of those stories, one facto...

ETHANOL AND OTHER BIOFUELS MANDATE

December 03, 2015

I rise this evening to speak in support of the Liquid Fuel Supply (Ethanol and Other Biofuels Mandate) Amendment Bill 2015 and wish to outline to this House the impact this bill will have on Queensland and, in particular, on the Townsville region. I will not spend my time talking about some of the great cars that I had, unlike the honourable member for Hinchinbrook, but I did learn to drive in a 1956 Ford Zephyr Mark III. The speedometer...
