Time is ticking for Youth Boost applications

The Queensland Government’s $100M Back To Work program provides incentives for Townsville employers, including the $20000 Youth Boost.

Scott Stewart, Member for Townsville, said “The Youth Boost program closes for new applications on 28 February 2017, so business are encouraged to get in quick.

“Overall, North Queensland employers are the biggest users of the Back To Work program with 169 employers putting on 362 employees so far, and 41 of those new employees are employed under the Youth Boost program. It’s great to see so many local businesses taking advantages of these payments.” Mr Stewart said.

Back To Work offers Employers support payments of up to $15000 to hire and keep a regional Queenslander employed for 12 months or more. This includes disadvantaged jobseekers such as mature aged workers, young people, long-term unemployed and other priority jobseekers.

In the North Queensland region, over $1.4 million has been paid out to our local businesses. These businesses are across many industries, - such as retail, accommodation, hospitality, health care, education and training, and construction.

Businesses can visit www.qld.gov.au/backtowork or call 13 QGOV (13 7468) for more information, or to apply for an employer support payment.
